Curtis Sellers is the Lead Pastor of Science Hill Church of the Nazarene. He is married to Barbra Pennington Sellers and they have three children: Ivan, who earned his undergraduate degree from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee and currently resides there. Michael, who earned his undergraduate degree from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in Mount Vernon, Ohio and his MBA from Western Governor’s University. He is currently residing in Nashville, TN. Michelle Swearingen, who earned her undergraduate degree from Columbia University in Columbia, South Carolina. She is a former elementary school teacher and is currently a homemaker. Michelle is married to Dr. Scott Wertz a professor of geology at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Michelle has two boys, Ethan and Aiden, and Scott has two girls, Samantha and Brooke.

A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Curtis came to Science Hill from Lubbock, Texas where he was the Lead Pastor of Lubbock First Church of the Nazarene. Before going to Lubbock First he was the Lead pastor of Gracepointe Church of the Nazarene in Loganville, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta. While at Gracepointe, worship attendance doubled. He oversaw a major relocation project: selling the old church, worshipping in a warehouse for almost 3 years, selling a 20 acre parcel that the church owned before his arrival, and purchasing 38 acres in one of the fastest-growing areas of Metro Atlanta. The church built a 36,000 square foot first-phase multi-ministry building, and is posed for a tremendous future.

While in Lubbock, Curtis was a member of the Lubbock Downtown Rotary Club.  He is a Paul Harris Fellow and past President of the Rotary Club of Ironton, Ohio. Curtis holds three earned degrees: Doctor of Ministry from Drew University, Master of Divinity from Nazarene Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor of Science from Trevecca Nazarene University. Curtis was honored as a selection for Outstanding Young Men of America in 1985 and Who’s Who in Religion in 1993.

Our Beliefs

As a first or second time guest, other than God you are the most important person here. We all know that being a first time guest to somewhere new is not always easy, but once you've decided to give it a try again, each step after that is a piece of cake. And because you decided to join us, we want to hear about your experience by asking you to fill out a survey for us!
