A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Curtis came to Science Hill from Lubbock, Texas where he was the Lead Pastor of Lubbock First Church of the Nazarene. Before going to Lubbock First he was the Lead pastor of Gracepointe Church of the Nazarene in Loganville, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta. While at Gracepointe, worship attendance doubled. He oversaw a major relocation project: selling the old church, worshipping in a warehouse for almost 3 years, selling a 20 acre parcel that the church owned before his arrival, and purchasing 38 acres in one of the fastest-growing areas of Metro Atlanta. The church built a 36,000 square foot first-phase multi-ministry building, and is posed for a tremendous future.
While in Lubbock, Curtis was a member of the Lubbock Downtown Rotary Club. He is a Paul Harris Fellow and past President of the Rotary Club of Ironton, Ohio. Curtis holds three earned degrees: Doctor of Ministry from Drew University, Master of Divinity from Nazarene Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor of Science from Trevecca Nazarene University. Curtis was honored as a selection for Outstanding Young Men of America in 1985 and Who’s Who in Religion in 1993.
